The CCPD is Funded Through the Current Half-Cent Sales Tax Rate - THIS is NOT a New Sales Tax.
“On May 2, the City of Grapevine will present voters with a proposition to extend the existing Crime Control & Prevention District, also known as a CCPD, which has been in place for 20 years. During that time, the district has funded a range of public safety programs and text that support police operations and contribute to Grapevine’s safety and security.
State law requires voter approval to continue the CCPD. The referendum provides Grapevine residents with the opportunity to vote whether to extend the existing district.
If approved, this proposition would continue the current half-cent sales tax that funds the CCPD. This is not a new tax and does not increase the existing sales tax rate.
Revenue from the district is used for purposes such as police staffing, patrol operations, crime prevention programs, and law enforcement technology. If approved, the extension would allow the City to continue using this dedicated funding source for these public safety efforts.
Most of the funding for the CCPD is generated through sales tax revenue from visitors who shop and dine in Grapevine.
The City of Grapevine encourages residents to review the information available on this website and make an informed decision. For additional information, please email CCPD@GrapevineTexas.gov or call 817-410-3105.”
Mayor William D. Tate
